The name is “Federated” because in 1929 three churches came together to form one church while keeping their particular denominational beliefs.  Today these three denominations are United Church of Christ, Disciples of Christ, and Presbyterian.  In addition to these three main groups we have a fourth group simply called the federated group.  Here you can find people with no denominational ties, yet you can also find a wide range of beliefs.  Catholics, Baptists, Methodists and Lutherans are just a few of the varied backgrounds people bring to this church.  Out of these many beliefs we form one church.

We have a history of community activism. From operating a food pantry to welcoming refugees to advocating for social justice as an Open & Affirming church, First Federated Church strives to live the love of Jesus.
